The many moods of Kathleen
Willey
|
Former White House volunteer. In a deposition for the
Paula Jones case, she said that when she went to the Oval
Office seeking a full-time job because of family financial
problems, Clinton kissed her, touched her breast, and placed
her hand on his erect penis. The day after she gave testimony
in the Paula Jones case, she said she found an animal skull
on her porch, her cat disappeared and her car tires were
slashed.
In his deposition, Clinton denied the sexual encounter,
but said Willey was so emotional that her visit stood
out. He suggested that he embraced her and may have kissed
her on the forehead in an attempt to comfort her.
Co-worker Linda Tripp ran into Willey in the White House
shortly after Willey left an Oval Office appointment with
Clinton in 1993. Willey told her that Clinton had kissed
and fondled her. Tripp described Willey as, quote, "disheveled.
Her face was red and her lipstick was off. She was flustered,
happy and joyful."
The New York Post reported that Willey told her
husband she was in love with Clinton, and that the husband
then killed himself (tax problems were also a cause).
Result: A great job promotion and a lot of free time
in her personal life.

UPDATES:11/13/98WILLEY OR WON’T HE? Independent Counsel Kenneth Starr sent new evidence to the House to assist impeachment investigators in determining whether to expand their inquiry of President Clinton to the Kathleen Willey matter. Starr has been investigating whether Clinton lied under oath when he denied making a crude sexual advance toward Mrs. Willey during a 1993 encounter in the Oval Office, and whether others tried to intimidate the former White House volunteer after she went public with her allegations. In his grand jury testimony, Clinton said Mrs. Willey hadn't told the truth...... So if nothing else, he and Kathleen have a lot in common... ... Actually they aren’t trying to decide if he did lie, they’re just trying to decide if anybody will care enough that he did to do something about it... 3/31/98CLINTON POLLING STRONG: The Daily Telegraph of London reports that polls show that most men believe Kathleen E. Willey's story of being groped by President Clinton, while most women do not...... In fact, Kathleen Willey doesn't even believe it... PREGNANT PAUSE IN THE INVESTIGATION: "Time" magazine is reporting in new editions that Kathleen Willey invented a tale of pregnancy to get back at a boyfriend , British-born soccer coach Shaun Docking, and enlisted former confidant Julie Steele to lie on her behalf in the bizarre ruse, in 1995...... Note to Ken Starr: when you interview Willey, keep an observer with you at all times... NOT FOR SIXTY SECONDS: Kathleen Willey turned down CBS's invitation to come back on "60 Minutes'' to talk about the friendly letters she sent to President Clinton after the incident where she accused him of making an unwanted sexual advance. "60 Minutes'' on Sunday added a short postscript to last week's Willey interview to mention the letters and Willey's efforts to sell her story to a book publisher, and reiterated that Willey was not paid for the first interview...... She only does something for free once -- ask Clinton... Actual (abridged) note to Bill Clinton from Willey a year after the alleged encounter.3/19/98 GOING WILLEY-NILLY: There are several reports this morning that CBS NEWS executives are now worried that they jumped the gun on last weekend's "60 Minutes" Kathleen Willey interview. Reports of a possible $300,000 book deal and a $300,000 "Star" magazine tabloid deal have given tops execs reason to doubther sincerity...... Like appearing on "60 Minutes" after testifying in a case with a gag order DOESN'T make you doubt her credibility...? ... That never stopped them from using Andy Rooney... 3/17/98KISS-GROPE-FONDLE AND TELL BOOK: President Clinton's personal attorney Bob Bennett said Kathleen Willey offered her autobiography to a Los Angeles publisher a month ago. Bennett told CNN's "Larry King Live" that Willey's Richmond attorney Daniel Gecker was in discussions with New Millennium publisher Michael Viner as late as last Thursday or Friday before Willey's interview on CBS. He said Gecker had told the publisher the upcoming television interview would help market Willey's proposed book. He quoted Willey's attorney as saying that Willey owed creditors hundreds of thousands of dollars and said Gecker had been seeking a minimum advance for the book of $300,000...... That's why Clinton's advances were rejected -- they were $300,000 short... |
"Ed Bradley went for my breast! Did everybody see his hand shoot at me?!? I'm selling this story to the Enquirer!!!"(Kathleen Willey being interviewed for the Sixty Minutes show on CBS.)

3/15/98WILLEY FEELS THE LITTLE HEAD OF STATE: Willey told "60 Minutes" reporter Ed Bradley that if Clinton denies there was a sexual advance, he is lying. "The hug just continued longer than I expected. ... I felt it was more than just a platonic hug,'' she said. "He attempted to kiss me,'' she added. Asked if he tried to kiss her on the lips, she said "Yes.... He put his hands — he put my hands on his genitals... It was very unexpected,'' added Willey. The president was "aroused'' and Willey withdrew her hand and broke out of his embrace, she said....... She said she wanted to work on the President's staff... SEALED WITH A KISS-OFF: In letters to President Clinton written after a White House encounter she now says amounted to an unwelcome sexual advance, Kathleen Willey requests jobs, a Christmas party invitation and refers to herself as his "No. 1 fan.'' The 15 letters, many of which are signed off "Fondly, Kathleen,'' were released by the White House on Monday. Willey also left at least 12 telephone messages for him after the now-famous meeting:November 31, 1993: Two days after the "incident," Willey called for the president. "She called this morning and said you could call her anytime," said the message to Clinton by his director of Oval office operations, Nancy Hernreich. Oct. 18, 1994: "Thank you so much for taking the time to meet with me. Since I've seen you, I have had the opportunity to talk with'' various aides in the Clinton administration. "I have invested almost three years with your campaign and administration and am not very willing to depart yet. I would like to be considered for an ambassadorship or a position in an embassy overseas. ... I don't need to remind you of my willingness to help you in any way that I can.'' Nov. 11, 1994: "Take heart in knowing that your number one fan thanks you every day for your help in saving her wonderful state.'' Nov. 13, 1996: "Congratulations on your outstanding win on November 5th. How fortunate for us all that you will lead us into the 21st century.'' December 5, 1995: Willey told Clinton in a letter that the White House was having difficulty finding her a job. She said she instead wanted to talk to him when she was in town the next week about a job with his 1996 re-election campaign. November 1997: The last letter released was a request by Willey to a Clinton aide in which she asked to be invited to a White House Christmas party. ... They also found several "post-it" notes on his underwear... CLINTON TURNS IRELAND GREEN: NOW President Patricia Ireland told CNN's "Late Edition'' that the new charges leveled against President Clinton by Willey would amount to sexual assault if proven true. "This is not just sexual harassment. If it's true, it's sexual assault,'' Ireland told CNN. "He put his hand on her breast ... He put her hand on his erection. That's a pretty serious charge if true. I think it's a very big problem...''... To which President Clinton said, "thank you very much..."
