Elizabeth Ward Gracen:
 |
Ward is a former Miss America
(1982) who is alleged to have had an affair with Clinton when
she was 21. Ward was an accounting major at the University of
Arkansas when she won the Miss America crown. Arkansas supporters
wearing "razorback" hats, resembling the faces of fat, red pigs,
shouted hog calls and encouragement when Ward sang a torchy
rendition of "After You've Gone" wearing a glittering peach
gown. The 5-foot-9 Ward showed off her classic 36-24-36 figure
in a cranberry spandex one-piece and won the swimsuit competition,
which she said proved that she was "well-rounded." Ironically,
Ward was a Reagan supporter at the time of the alleged affair
with Clinton.
Result: Ward has refused to confirm or deny their relationship,
but still received an estimated $100,000 for nude photos in
"Playboy." But, in the event that Miss Ward is unable to fulfill
her duties as Clinton's love muffin, the title goes to the,
first runner up...

SHE'S
ANYTHING BUT FLAT BROKE: Former Miss America
Elizabeth Ward Gracen, who said she had an affair with
President Clinton in 1983, has filed for bankruptcy, citing
debts allegedly caused by an ex-boyfriend now in jail
in France...
... It isn't the first time she's gone belly-up...

AND
SHE THOUGHT THE PRESIDENT HAD GREEDY LITTLE PAWS:
The New York Post reports that an attorney for actress
Elizabeth Ward Gracen says his client spent months
eluding a subpoena in the Paula Jones sexual harassment
case after an anonymous phone caller advised her of
the forthcoming subpoena and urged her to disappear.
Miss Gracen, who has since admitted a sexual liaison
with Mr. Clinton back when he was governor of Arkansas,
accepted the advice and dodged the subpoena by traveling
around the country and overseas. Since then, she has
received another anonymous call telling her to pipe
down or face the wrath of the Internal Revenue Service.
Sure enough, the IRS now says she did not file returns
and is threatening to seize her wages and property.
"She pays her taxes; she's really square," the lawyer,
Vincent Vento, told the newspaper. "I don't think
anybody wants to take on the government..."
... By her own admission she did take on the
government-- in the back seat of a limo...

WARD-ING
OFF THE PRESIDENT: From the Canoe Internet
site -- Elizabeth Ward Gracen expresses relief
over surviving the Clinton sex scandal circus:
"I think Clinton is a very dangerous, manipulative
man and I've had to be very careful," she says.
"There was a lot of pressure on my family and
friends, people were being staked out. I was a
little bit afraid for my own safety at one point.
It's just not an area where you're safe." She
pauses, then says, "I would never have said what
I just told you a month ago..."
... I think I'd be more afraid of Hillary
than of Bill after a fling in his limo, Liz...
Before decamping
for Paris, she's hoping the London film festival
will screen her first effort as a director,
"The Damn Deal," a documentary about three female
impersonators. In her film, the men metamorphose
into their stage selves, finishing up looking
for all the world like prototypical Clinton
girls -- big-haired, lipsticked pageant queens.
Gracen roars with laughter at the thought. "He'll
be after them," she says. "No one's safe..."
... Actually they sound more like Janet
Reno...

GRACEN'
HIS BACK SEAT: Elizabeth Ward Gracen,
a former Miss America who says she had a
one-night stand with President Bill Clinton
when he was governor of Arkansas has apologized
to the first lady. "What I did was wrong,
and I feel very, very bad about it now.
My behavior was inappropriate -- that's
just the bottom line."...
... But the affair does show you
how she got that "Miss Congeniality" award...
"It's behavior that I wouldn't recommend
to any young women, no matter what degree
of glamour or glitter there seems to be
at first," Gracen said...
... Yes, who in their right mind
would want to go through the daily grind
of being a TV star?

DON'T
BE SURPRISED IF YOU SEE PAULA JONES:
Former Miss America Elizabeth Ward Gracen
raised a few eyebrows this month by
admitting to a past affair with President
Clinton. Now her next project should
raise a few more: a documentary about
gay businessmen and drag queens in Arkansas.
The film, called "The Damn Deal," is
in its final editing stage and Gracen
plans to enter it into the Toronto Film
Festival. She received "a six-figure"
sum from an investment firm to pay for
promotion and distribution...
... Now that she's the big shot
with movie connections, you have sex
in HER car...

POLITICAL
SCANDALS LAID BARE: Miss
America 1982 Elizabeth Ward Gracen,
who recently said she had a consensual
fling with Bill Clinton, sheds her
clothing in May's "Playboy" magazine...
... Making her the first
Clinton girlfriend to appear in
a magazine other than "Hogs 'n'
Heifers"...
THE
GIRL NEXT DOOR - OR CURRENTLY
HIDING SOMEWHERE IN EUROPE:
Ward Gracen told the New York
Daily News that she had sex
with Bill Clinton when he was
governor of Arkansas, but insists
it was consensual. Ward Gracen
said she came forward to respond
to allegations that Clinton forced
himself on her. The former Miss
America is currently signed to
act on the TV drama "Highlander."
She says she voted for Clinton
and would do so again...
... She feels he's really
earned the title Head of State...

In
the wake of other sex allegations
and the Paula Jones case being
thrown out by a Little Rock
judge, the White House did not
even bother to respond to the
account by Gracen...
... That's because this
was the first good-lookin'
one, and Clinton doesn't want
to deny it...

WE
KNOW SHE DID WELL IN THE
"ORAL" SECTION -- WAS THERE
A SWIMSUIT COMPETITION?
Ward (now Elizabeth Ward
Gracen) stayed in France
for the duration of the
legal "discovery" process
of the Paula Jones case.
Now, four months later,
USA Today reports
Ward Gracen is still dodging
a subpoena from Paula Jones'
legal team. Attorneys want
to question Miss Gracen,
a "37-year-old actress and
Arkansas native," about
whether then-Gov. Bill Clinton
"pressured her to have sex
with him, whether he arranged
jobs and other benefits
for her to keep quiet, and
whether any of his associates
participated in a 'jobs-for-silence'
operation," reporter Tom
Squitieri said. Miss Gracen,
in a voice-mail message
in January, told USA
Today: "I'm out of the
country. I don't want to
be a pawn in this whole
ugly affair." She left Arkansas
just ahead of a subpoena
server, and has traveled
to Las Vegas, Princeton,
N.J., and the Caribbean,
the newspaper said. "I do
not want to be a party to
women being unjustly humiliated
in the media and victimized
by politicians' agenda,"
Miss Gracen said in a January
call believed to have come
from St. Martin. "And when
I hang up, I'm on the move
to another Caribbean island..."
... Fleeing the country?
There goes that "Miss
Congeniality" award...
Elizabeth's
friend Judy Ann Stokes
did testify, however,
saying that some time
in the mid-1980s Elizabeth
"was with Bill Clinton
in the back seat of his
limousine and that he
had come on to her, and
she ended up having sex
with him." Ward was "very
tearful" when she told
her the story.
Paula Jones' attorneys
says Elizabeth was rewarded
with job opportunities
in Hollywood in exchange
for keeping silent about
her affair with Clinton
(that's her at left
in "Highlander," the
TV series -- so much
for presidential clout).
...
Getting screwed by executives
is good practice for
working in Hollywood,
anyway...
