Deborah Mathis:

A former TV and newspaper reporter in Arkansas, and an alleged lover of then-Governor Clinton. She was mentioned in the deposition of L.D. Brown, a former Arkansas state trooper, in the Paula Jones trial. He stated that he had heard from others of the affair. Mathis currently resides in Chevy Chase, Maryland with her husband and children, and prefers not to comment on the allegations.
A native of Little Rock, Arkansas, Mathis began her career as a general assignment reporter for the Arkansas Democrat. She worked as an on-air reporter and anchor for both KTHV-TV and KATV-TV in Little Rock, Arkansas, and as a reporter/weekend anchor for WTTG-TV in Washington, D.C. Mathis later joined the Arkansas Gazette in 1988 as an editorial columnist and staff writer, and became associate editor in 1990.RESULT: Mathis became the national correspondent for Gannett News Service. She was responsible for reporting on all national news stories dealing with the White House and the administration (including Clinton scandal news, with some obvious omissions). (Thanks to L. Yauk)
