... from our war correspondent, my mom.
THE WAR, October 9, 2001
Last Sunday I came hom from church and walked
first around the yard when my husband came running out to get
me saying the President would be speaking in 3 min. I came in
and the first thing I said was "bombing on a Sunday? "
My second thought was that the pilots who went in and dropped
the bombs and sent the missles must have felt good about it.
Not that they want to kill peple but because of the rage against
these people for killing almost 6,000 innocent Americans and
destroying two United States landmarks and causing fear and
terror across the nation. They must have felt good because they
were doing something about it. They were trained to do something
about it, and thank God we are a nation with enough resources
and brave young men that we CAN do something about it.
I liked the President's speech. I think he is
a nice man and was through the Presidential campaign. Now he
is forced to be strong for all of us. We really are depending
on hm to come through. He has his own family to support him
and his wife and children to do the same. We do not have to
worry that his prime time is spent fantazising about other women.
I am a mother and no mother, much less anyone else wants us
to lose young men's lives. Think how this must burden the President
--I know it has in President's past and how they age in this
office.
Someone said to me that Al Gore must be glad that
he did not become President after all but I said No Way. Al
Gore in my opinion, is wishing he was in that hot seat--there
to command. He too was in training to lead a nation and this
will be a huge
leadership to miss.
I did not see that in Bill Clinton. I think he
did our nation a horrible injustice to put his personal lusts
above our security. The time and money that was spenbt on his
moral behavior has without a doubt led to the fact that we find
there are over 3000 sleepers (terrorists) and probably more
in place, trained, dedicated to the job of destroying us. And
this is only one example. We have other enemies also so a lot
of business was not being taken care of while he was President.
Now, then, we have to see his face, trying to gain attention
once again on TV.
. He should be ashamed, not just for his moral behavior but
for letting us all down. What President Bush got, Clinton helped
to give it to him by neglect and the arrogance that he could
lead a nation and lead a covert life of his own.
I will leave you with this thought......could
crime take a holiday? Could people normally only thinking about
themselves, change now?
